Mastercard has launched a new AI-powered platform designed to help banks and financial institutions create personalized, brand-compliant card designs in minutes. As reported by Adweek, the Mastercard AI Card Design Studio is now live in North America, Europe, and Australia through the Mastercard Connect platform, with additional regions coming soon.

Faster, Smarter Card Design

The AI Card Design Studio gives issuers the ability to upload logos, product information, and visual elements, then use AI-assisted tools to generate card designs that align with Mastercard’s brand standards. The platform also supports instant downloads of production-ready files, streamlining the creative process.

Mastercard says this solution dramatically reduces go-to-market timelines while improving creative control and cost-efficiency. Banks no longer need to rely on lengthy design cycles or external creative teams to generate compliant card art.

Cheryl Guerin, executive vice president of global brand strategy and innovation at Mastercard, called the studio “a game-changer,” adding, “This isn’t just a design tool. It’s a leap forward in how cards are imagined, built, and brought to life.”

First-of-Its-Kind in the Payments Industry

According to Mastercard, this is the first time a global payment network has offered AI-powered card design capabilities directly to issuers. The move builds on Mastercard’s earlier investments in AI-assisted creative tools, including automated design reviews.

What sets this platform apart is the ability to balance brand guidelines with design flexibility. Mastercard said its AI tools help partners stay compliant while producing visually compelling cards that strengthen consumer engagement.

Consumer Design Capabilities Coming Soon

In an upcoming expansion, Mastercard plans to offer cardholders the ability to create their own card designs. This will allow individuals and small businesses to use the same AI-assisted design features already available to issuers. Mastercard says this added level of personalization can help deepen emotional connections between users and their payment products.

By putting creative tools in the hands of both financial institutions and consumers, Mastercard is betting on design as a driver of both customer experience and brand equity.

A Strategic Step Toward Personalization

As personalization continues to be a top priority in digital banking, Mastercard’s AI Card Design Studio positions the brand at the intersection of technology, creativity, and user experience. With fast deployment and scalable customization, the tool helps both large and small institutions offer cardholders a more engaging and flexible product.
